HAECO Americas, a subsidiary of the HAECO Group with headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, officially opened its newest and state-of-the-art fifth hangar today at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) Airport.
The opening ceremony was held inside the $60M hangar, which spans 250,000 square feet and is the largest maintenance space within the HAECO Americas portfolio. At full capacity, the fifth hangar will employ an additional 500 more aircraft technicians and support staff.
Richard Kendall, CEO of HAECO Americas, said: "This hangar is a testament to the incredible pace of growth our company has seen over the past year, and we are proud to showcase it to our community. Our parent company has recognised the excellent progress our team has made and the significant opportunity this additional capacity creates. This investment allows us to strengthen our team, bring jobs to our community and take on larger, more complex projects in the future."
The new hangar can accommodate up to eight next-generation narrowbody aircraft, or two next-generation widebody aircraft and two next-generation narrowbody aircraft. The hangar will also receive a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified rating, in keeping with HAECO's commitment to its sustainability goals.
