FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | 22nd May 2009 |
Cathay Pacific Airways today announced a two-month extension of its current fuel surcharges as approved by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD).
The surcharges of HK$52 (US$6.7) for short-haul services in North and South East Asia and HK$239 (US$30.6) for long-haul services will be extended from 1 June to 31 July 2009.
A Cathay Pacific spokesman said: "The airline's fuel surcharges continue to be lower than those of other international airlines on comparable routes outside Hong Kong. As CAD has pointed out, it remains an international practice for airlines to levy passenger fuel surcharges."
