Cathay Pacific Adds More Destinations in Thailand
through Bangkok Airways Code-share

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced that it will be adding the popular holiday destinations of Koh Samui and Krabi in Thailand to its network early next month following a code-share agreement reached with Bangkok Airways.

Under the agreement, Cathay Pacific's "CX" code will be placed on Bangkok Airways' daily services between Hong Kong and Koh Samui and Bangkok and Krabi/Chiang Mai. At the same time, Bangkok Airways' "PG" code will be placed on Cathay Pacific's services between Hong Kong and Bangkok.

The new services will offer Cathay Pacific passengers greater convenience and more choice when travelling to Thailand through the airline's comprehensive global network.

Tickets for the new code-share services are open for sale from 28 October for travel commencing 4 November 2013.

Cathay Pacific Director Sales & Marketing Rupert Hogg welcomed the new code-share services with Bangkok Airways, saying: "Thailand has long been a key destination in our Asian network. We currently operate more than 50 flights a week between Hong Kong and Bangkok and we are glad that our passengers will be offered a wider choice of Thai destinations with this new code-share service."

Peter Weisner, Bangkok Airways' Senior Vice President - Network said, "Thailand is always the top of mind destination in Asia and we've seen a huge growth in the number of passengers traveling to Thailand. The codeshare agreement provides passengers more choice, flexibility and convenience when traveling between Hong Kong and major cities in Thailand, namely Koh Samui, Bangkok, Krabi and Chiang Mai. We expect the codeshare agreement will offer a boost to Thailand tourism"

With the addition of Koh Samui and Krabi, the Cathay Pacific Group now connects to a total of five destinations in Thailand. Cathay Pacific operates 52 flights a week to Bangkok, while sister airline Dragonair operates 11 flights a week to Phuket and a daily flight to Chiang Mai.
