4月20日早上，中國四川省雅安市發生7.0級地震40分鐘後，中國電信第一批應急通信車及搶險人員已奔赴災區。隨後，各批次應急保障隊伍陸續集結出發，包括85支搶修隊伍共900多人。震後8小時，搶通10個受災鄉鎮通信，佔全部通信受損鄉鎮數量的33%。中國電信王曉初董事長於當晚抵達四川蘆山現場指揮搶險工作，調動全公司力量支援四川地震災區。楊杰總經理災後第一時間召集緊急會議，全面部署通信搶險工作。 截至4月21日統計，雅安CDMA網移動語音網絡接通率在95.5%左右，正常、平穩；CDMA網短信點對點首發成功率保持穩定，全省98.4%、雅安96.3%。 搶險救災期間，中國電信為地震災區提供免費寬帶、語音、短信、流量、漫遊服務、平安電話及尋親熱線服務。 |
