• 1993 年 8 月 31 日結束和記黃埔集團董事總經理一職
• 2007 年 5 月 17 日結束和記黃埔非執董一職
• 2017 年 5 月 11 日結束長江實業非執董一職

因此，其個人言論或意見，早不代表長和集團或李嘉誠先生。自八十年代起，李先生帶領集團在全球，包括在中國尋找投資機會，集團一直以來積極覓得多元的海外及國內投資，經營策略和方針不變。同時，李先生於 1980 年成立李嘉誠基金會，至今已捐出總額逾 260 億港元，約八成公益項目投放於大中華地區，致力推動教育改革和醫療發展，堅守「萬變社會，不變承諾」，建立同慈力量，啟迪社會創進；愛國愛港之情，盡在經年的實踐中。
