（2015 年 5 月 8 日，香港）和記黃埔有限公司（「和黃」）宣佈與五家實力雄厚的機構投資者達成協議，投資者共以 31 億英鎊（相等於約港幣 366 億 4,200 萬元）認購 3 英國與 O2 英國合併業務的 33% 股份。這批投資者是加拿大的 Canada Pension Plan Investment Board、新加坡政府投資公司（GIC）、阿布扎比投資局（ADIA）的全資附屬公司 Limpart Holdings Limited、加拿大魁北克儲蓄投資集團（CDPQ）以及巴西的 BTG Pactual。

3 向 Telefonica 收購 O2 英國的交易已於 2015 年 3 月 25 日公佈。這次股份認購仍須待 3 完成向 Telefonica 收購和合併 O2 英國、並獲得歐盟競爭委員會的批准才正式生效。從這次協議所得的全數收益，將聯同一筆已獲承諾的 60 億英鎊銀團貸款，用作支付 O2 英國交易的代價。

和黃集團董事總經理霍建寧就簽訂股份認購協議說﹕「很榮幸能夠獲得一批全球最大型及最具實力的投資者成為 3 及 O2 英國合併業務的合作夥伴。合併後業務擁有近 3,300 萬用戶，將會是英國最大的流動電訊營運商。

「這些投資者認同我們的願景與信念，認為要建立相當的業務規模才可確保公司在英國市場上的競爭力，並藉著最大型及先進流動網絡基建的優勢，提供更佳與創新服務。這些投資者今次願意投入如此龐大資金，足見他們與和黃一樣，除了對英國經濟、以及其維持推動電訊業蓬勃發展並領導全球的承諾充滿信心之外，更對歐洲發展單一數碼電訊市場以促進電訊業投資的計劃投以信任一票。」

交易仍有待歐盟批准才會完成。
