Chengdu Daci Temple Cultural and Commercial Complex Launching Ceremony

Chengdu, 7 August 2012 - Swire Properties ("SPL") and Sino-Ocean Land ("SOL") announced today the launching of their Chengdu Daci Temple Cultural and Commercial Complex. A launching ceremony was held this morning in the project's marketing showsuite and at which Zhang Yusong, Vice Secretary of Communist Party Committee and Mayor of Chengdu Jinjiang District, Li Ming, Chief Executive and Chairman of Sino-Ocean Land Holdings Limited and Martin Cubbon, Chief Executive of Swire Properties Limited officiated.

Located in the Hailrun Complex on Lower Dongda Street in Chengdu, the marketing showsuite offers visitors a comprehensive preview of the 250,000*-sqm mixed-use commercial project as well as a bird-eye view of the project site. Scheduled for a phased opening from 2014 onwards, the Daci Temple Cultural and Commercial Complex comprises a 100,000-sqm open plan retail centre offering 300 retail and dining outlets, a 100-room urban intriguing hotel managed by Swire Hotels, serviced apartments as well as a Grade A office tower, Pinnacle One.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to develop the Daci Temple Cultural & Commercial Complex in this prime location in Jinjiang District and Chengdu CBD," said Cubbon. "Our project recognises and preserves the significance of the Daci Temple and its surrounding heritage buildings for the people of Chengdu; I am confident that together with our strategic partner, Sino-Ocean Land, we have created a concept and design that will embrace the architectural, historical and cultural values of the site while bringing to the city a brand new retail and leisure destination."

The master layout plan for the Daci Temple Complex centres on the preservation of the Temple and the reinvigoration of the surrounding historical buildings. The design of the Complex introduces an abundance of lanes, courtyards and plazas into the historical district, where shoppers and diners will mingle with workers and visitors.

"Through a contemporary design scheme, the Daci Temple Cultural & Commercial Complex offers the convenience and functions of modernisation while fully respecting the local history and culture," said Li. "We strongly believe that the Daci Temple Complex will become a masterpiece of urban renewal in the course of China's modernisation. It demonstrates the shared vision amongst Chengdu government, Sino-Ocean Land and Swire Properties, which is to build a world-class cultural and commercial landmark and contribute to Chengdu's development."

The Chengdu Daci Temple Cultural and Commercial Complex, located in the heart of Chengdu and the popular Chunxi Road shopping area in Jinjiang District, will be conveniently accessible from the interchange station of Metro Lines 2 and 3.
